Breaking up is probably the toughest decision everyone has to make sometime in their lives. The last straw of what once seemed a bond that would last a life time. The act is emotive, stirring tears and a flood of emotions. In today’s world however, the concept of love itself is slowly deteriorating resulting in relationships losing the gist it was initially meant for. Most couples today fear this path, this dark road that leaves scars and eternal wounds, and most turn to the cliché path of dealing with the situation. Some of these break-up lines have been so overused that now people can actually decipher the true meaning to understand what their partner is trying to convey. Not all relationships end on a bad note; some just use these fancy lines as a tool to consciously uncouple or rather to ignite the spark again if needed. The next time you face your partner unleashing these cowardice lines at you during a break-up, you will know what they actually mean, because these are things people say when breaking up and what they actually mean.

1. “We’ll Still Be Friends”
Yes break-up lines are cliché and this probably tops the list. The reason behind any break-up is that you are sick and tired of spending time with the other, but to end on a good note and sustain the rapport, this is always and most of the time blurted out. You’re probably never going to message that estranged loved one but heck let’s just keep things tidy and say that we will still be friends.

3. “You Deserve Someone Better”
Now this is a blatant lie. No one thinks that someone else is better and uttering these few words might actually make the other person feel empowered in this situation. What I mean to say is that, “yeah… hell right… I’m awesome and you just don’t fit the picture.”

4. I’m not ready for commitment or marriage!!
Sure enough he/she is going to be ready for marriage one day but you are really not the one he/she wants to make sacrifices and become responsible for.

5. We’re Not Meant To Be”
Well there is no logical reason why we cannot work out and frankly that particular person just doesn’t have the balls to walk out on you so the best remedy is to leave it to the stars and fate, but the evident reason is that your partner has found someone else who fits in the bill. Now who can question fate?

6. We’re Very Different People”
We have been together for months or years together and have spent loads of cherished moments, but now the sting is out and we feel like strangers…. almost like we had nothing in common apart from reaching the same decibel levels during an argument.

7. “I Still Love You”
My a**. There is no better way of exiting a relationship than by extracting sympathy from the other person. Expressing your love for that other person yet sustaining that you are not meant to be together is like making you sound like you are sacrificing your love for the good of the other. Now that’s a smart move that always ends commitments on a healthy note.

Everybody loves a compliment and one like this is going to give you a chance to hook up again…. IF YOU WANT!!

11.”I Need A Break”
Adios…Bye bye. This by far is the easiest way to break-up. For someone to say that we need a break clearly means that, that person is done spending time with you and since you have such a hot head this is probably the easiest way to say we are DONE.

12. “ I Need To Focus On My Career And Cannot Be Distracted”

13. “My Parents Disapprove Of You”
Now when has he/she actually have listened to their parents? None you can remember before this right? This is the most cowardice way to break off a relationship and it works. You want to know why? Because that person is going to shift their hate from you to those two innocent souls that don’t even have a clue.

Too bad buddy, you have officially being used as an emotional punching bag and a rebound. You were just that tool used to sort out his/her ex and get their priorities straightened out.

15. ……………
Yes, being madly in love one day and just never hearing of that person the next is going to feel like a knife seeping through your heart. Well, most people fail to stand up and voice what they think hence the silent treatment is the best possible solution. This is a clear sign that they were never really into you in the first place and their cute talk was all for the intimacy. Not one text, call or mail…THE END!!
