Fondly known as Gurudev, Rabindranath Tagore is famous because he is the first Asian to become a Nobel laureate. This man was not just an astounding writer, but also an exceptional painter, musician and singer. Tagore’s works are so exemplary, that they have been translated from Bangla into several languages, including English. He had also written many poems in English. His greatest work, ‘Gitanjali’, won him the ‘Nobel Prize’ in Literature in 1913.
