For Behl, it was love at first sight. The duo first met on the sets of the movie Naraaz in 1994 and Behl’s sister introduced Sonali to him. Stricken by her beauty, Behl vowed to spend the rest of his life with her and on the other had Sonali had no clue of his feelings towards her.
On asking him what made you fall in love with her, Goldie responded, “It was also the way she ate her food, at a very slow pace and in a delicate and slow manner that he found quite endearing.”Sonali still remains baffled by this response but according to them the topic of food is what broke the ice. So much so that they even say that a family that cooks together stays together.

Having grown closer as friends over the course of shooting for Angaaray, Behl cunningly made sure to visit the set of Major Saab, which was starred by Amitabh Bachchan and Sonali. Amitabh’s son Abhishek was Goldie’s close friend and that gave him a reason to visit the sets often, though the real reason was to meet Sonali.
The frequent appearances on the set made them bond and finally he managed to make her swoon to his charm. She was quoted as saying after the film tanked at the box-office, “what the heck, it is just a film and highs and lows happen. It will still be a memorable time because it really gave us a chance to bond and our love blossomed!”

Life After Marriage
Fourteen years after they tied the knot, the flame of love this couple shares, still burns and doesn’t seem like it will douse any time. According to them, they have grown even fonder of each other as the years have rolled on and are still discovering each other after these many years. Isn’t that one feeling most couple couples would like to have? Damn right they would!!

Three years after they got married, Sonali gave birth to a baby boy that they have named Ranveer at Mumbai’s famous Breach Candy Hospital at Cumballa Hill on 11th August.
Exuberant after the birth of his son, Goldie said, “Our son Ranveer is the most special gift Sonali has ever given me. She’s a hands-on mother.”
In response to his statement, Sonali later replied by saying, “Goldie is the loving father, the one who spoils the kid with love, not that she doesn’t enjoy the two boys bonding beautifully, it is just that she wants Ranveer to grow up responsibly. Being a star child isn’t easy and nothing should be taken for granted is what the loving mother has to say.”

On asked about her decision to carry on acting in mainstream cinema, Goldie said, “Sonali is a much better actress now, because she has the power to choose and be selective. Earlier, there was a huge gap between what she wanted to do and what she was actually doing as an actor. Subtle acting and understated performances weren’t considered good acting back then. But things have greatly improved; things are different at the movies now. There is a vision and substance behind an actresses role too. She will definitely have more fun working in films in this time and age. Coming from a middle class background, she says she knows the value of everything and how you’d be treated if you’re successful and when you aren’t so successful.”

Despite being a celebrity couple, Sonali ensures that they always stay grounded like normal people. The sacrifices and support they have shown towards each other has made their marriage last for so long, and the couple still feels very much in love, as Goldie admits that she still is the most beautiful woman in any room they walk into and he can’t help but check her out every single time.
